Allison Kay Murphy was born on September 30, 1976. Along with her older brother John, she grew up in New Mexico and California. She was outgoing and from an early age had a lot of friends. Up until 1983 she led a pretty normal life. At that time she was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare type of bone cancer. She went through two very difficult years of chemotherapy treatment, at the end of which she was declared "cancer free." Five years later, in October of 1990, the cancer returned, and over the next three years she fought for her life with great courage and dignity. During this time her enire world changed quite dramatically, but through all of the many ups and downs she remained extraordinarily strong, cheerful and positive. Allison died in an ambulance on the way home to San Luis Obispo from the hospital in San Francisco on the afternoon of December 30, 1993. The void she once filled within the lives of her friends and family is boundless; the energy that burned so brightly for a brief moment in time will never be forgotten.
This site is dedicated to her memory.
